This past January, I traveled to San Francisco & Napa Valley to do flowers for Yvonne & Ruda’s wedding! And, since Whitney came along as their photographer, the trip was pretty well documented (which I am very thankful for!) She took some photos in the San Fran Flower Market, all over the city, Napa Valley, and of course the wedding. Here are some of my favorites from the flower market. And please, don’t judge the 6am no makeup flower run!

Summer Workshop Series!

Sign ups for the Dixie Design Collective Summer Workshop Series begin today! The first lesson on Thursday, June 13th will be about the care, keeping, and arranging of flowers, taught by yours truly! July and August classes will focus on sewing taught by Bekah Stewart of A Well Traveled Woman, and film photography taught by Whitney Neal! To find out more info/sign up, click here! Dixie Design Collective Studio

Bridal Shower Flower Class!

Over the weekend, I taught a flower class for one of my bride’s bridal showers! I’ve never thought of myself as much of a teacher, but standing up in front of everyone talking to them about one of my favorite things in the world was SO FUN. It was great seeing everyone’s style come through in their arrangements! Since I had so much fun, I’ve decided I want to do it again! And, tomorrow you’ll find out exactly what I’m talking about. Stay tuned!!

Emerald Green & Coral Wedding Inspiration

Loving this color combo of emerald greens and corals (are we calling it ‘guava’ these days?) It’s elegant, natural, and punchy! Any shade of either color would work well together too- and could probably be used in any season!

Glamorous Colorful Moroccan Inspired Wedding

Cara and I met on our first day of college in biology class- two fashion merchandising girls stuck in a room of science. Needless to say, we were fast friends. made it through the next four years through countless retail classes, a trip to NYC Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, and on to plan both of our weddings together. When Cara called to tell me she was engaged (with a ring from Tiffanys!) I had no doubt this wedding would be stunning. It was colorful, sophisticated, and glamorous, complete with a custom designed dress and a handsome groom. I was honored to be a part of this wedding and even more honored to stand at the altar with my sweet friend. I couldn’t be happier for her and her soulmate and am so excited to share this wedding with you!

Cara had a vision for an old Hollywood, colorful, Moroccan inspired affair at the Hurstbourne Country Club in Lousville. She found a swatch of fabric which inspired our color palette- turquoise, burgundy, shades of pink, and touches of purple and orange. Fall is full of these colors and I had a field day putting these arrangements together! Thank you to Amanda Jacobs for assisting with the flowers and for helping execute the day! Couldn’t have done it without you!

Light Blue & Nude Wedding Inspiration

Felt inspired last night and made a light blue & nude inspiration board. Fluffy flowers and pastels. I don’t often use a lot of blue in arrangements just because good blue flowers are limited, but within this color palette, I kinda love it!
